Cajun

Name  Northern Lights Bourbon Street, aka "Cajun" SOLD

Height     Expected to reach 14-14.2hh at maturity

                            nrthrnlightsrnch@aol.com

Notes:
"Cajun" as we call him is a super gentle, very easy to get along with beautiful Gypsy Colt.  He stands 12.1hh at 1 year old and we expect him to reach right at 14-14.2hh.  His dam stands a bit over 15.2 and so it is possible he might go taller, as his dam stopped growing at age 6.  Cajun was shown as a 3 1/2 month old foal, took 2nd in  his class against 7 month old colts, and 4th against adults in bred by owner.  Very classy colt, short coupled build, beautiful head, and incredible coloring.  He is Ee/Aa/nn (for creme).  The two videos below were taken at 4 months of age, but give a good idea of his temperament.

Cajun was just body clipped for the first time, two days ago and couldn't care less.

Cajun is only available at this price for a short time.  He was on a contract to be purchased, and due to unforseen circumstances, his buyers were unable to compelete his contract.  The $6,000 is to cover the remainder on the contract.

If he does not sell at this price soon, we will be removing him from sale, and will put further training into him, and relist him in the spring at a significantly higher value for a coming 2 yo stallion.

Our Website has not been updated yet, and Cajun is still listed as sold.  This is the current ad for him.  We may possibly consider three payments - $3000 deposit, and $1500 in June, and $1500 in July. He will not leave until paid in full.

Notes:
Arctic Explorer (Explorer) is a heavily built gypsy colt.  He has very heavy feather for such a young foal, getting a double dose of feathers from his very heavy sire and dam. Explorer’s dam is a half sister to The Lottery Horse (his dam has the same dam as Lottery), with Roadsweeper (UK) and The Paddy horse also in his pedigree. He has been handled from
birth and is very people oriented; when they bring horses in from pasture at night, the guys call Explorer, whose dam follows him, and then all the rest of the horses come running also.

More photos of Explorer can be found in his foal photo album:

This colt is a favorite as he has the sweetest personality .His head is beautiful and he has gotten his sire's heavy bone and hair, although his dam has quite a bit of hair also! His dam is a beautiful Pratt-bred mare and his sire, The Godfather, has Frainy and Checkity in his breeding. This combination is one to repeat as this colt is very special. Always the first to see what is going on. Bold, curious, sweet, athletic, looks, and personality - as a breeder I can't ask for more. I prefer to geld all my colts, but to the right person I would consider keeping him intact.

Pride is by the big black stallion, Ruby Sky's Black Bear, who has tons and tons of feather, as well as and wonderful movement, both of which he has inherited. His dam was so well thought of that she was imported back to England. Pride has great movement and a sweet nature. He homozygous for black (EE), so he will only produce foals with black base coats, whether solid or spotted. He is just a yearling and is still growing and filling out. He has lots of mane and feather. He leads, loads, picks up feet, bathes, and is a quick learner. He can be gelded if someone is interested in a gelding.
