General Info
Gaelic is a big horse in a small package. He is affectionate, athletic and beautifully balanced. He is in dressage training at the moment and the trainer is thrilled with his progress and natural ability. His first foals are coming 2 and all look to be improvements over their dams. He seems to stamp his balanced body and sweet head on his foals. Gaelic has a sweet temperament and will stand for hours while children brush and braid him. He has been shown mostly in expos and is a favorite where ever he goes.
Gaelic has rare bloodlines here in the US as his sire, Groovy, is pure McCann breeding and is, I believe the only one of that breeding in the US. Gaelic's dam, Lass is Pratt and Price breeding. His beautiful tri color comes from his dam. Gaelic has produced both sabino, tobiano and solid color foals in red, black and bay.
His semen is excellent: ships well and he has high numbers even after 48 hours.

FF Chavo also participated for the first time at Equine Affaire Ohio in 2009. Now in professional training with Victoria Patterson-Pirko, a USDF Prix St. George silver and bronze medalist, both FF Chavo, and his owner, are gearing up for the 2010 dressage show season.

Info
"Silver" is a rare "few spot" Gypsy Cob. He carries two copies of the "spotty" (appaloosa like) color gene, and this breeding auction includes guarantee for a genetic "spotty" color/characteristics foal. We cannot guarantee how much color the foal will have, but will be from mottles to all over spots. Color is his icing on the cake- this lovely balanced young stallion was just imported in early 2009 from England. He's got lovely feather, pretty head, fox ears, full long mane and tail, and is a balanced mover. "Silver" is a very sweet stallion with lots of smarts. He is gentle, even with children (as the Gypsy is bred to be). He loves his "back scritches" and will walk up to anyone who comes to see him. He is not flighty or spooky. His conformation is excellent with a long smooth stride. He's polite, seeks affection and is just quite the gentleman!
We hope he will be a cornerstone to adding more "spotty" genes to the USA gene pool.
A bit about the appaloosa spotted Gypsy:
Most people think pinto when they think of the color of the Gypsy horse or cob. In fact, Gypsy horses come in all colors from palomino to appaloosa spotted. Most of the rarer colors are still found in small numbers in the UK, Ireland and the continents that Gypsy people are found. Most of the appaloosa coloring comes from the British Spotted Pony. The spots descend from the old oriental lines as does the British Spotted Pony and Appaloosa horse.
"Silver" is called the "few spot leopard" due to showing only a few spots, yet carrying two genes for the spotting trait. To inherit one copy you see the spotting color on the body or roaning blanket. To inherit two causes the genes to "wipe out" the body color so you see a white body with only a few spots. Since the sire gives each foal one of the copies of his spotting gene on each baby "Silver" will 100% pass on a spotting gene to each foal since he has two. We go so far as to guarantee that your foal sired by silver will carry one spotting gene and show color/characteristics by maturity. Think of Silver if you'd like to add, not only quality, but to also to add the rare and flashy color of the spotted Gypsy!
See Silver's webpage for more photos.
